A colleague and I have been doing a few friendly photo challenges over the past few months, and its been a nice way to challenge myself to be a little more creative.

Recently, another colleague came across her old 35mm camera, and some expired Kentmere 400 Black and White film. She decided to share a roll with each of us, so all three of us could shoot a roll for the next photo challenge.

It’s been awhile since I’ve shot black and white film, and with the film being expired, there’s all sorts of recommendations for how to shoot it - push it a stop, overexpose… blah, blah, blah. I decide to do the complete opposite, I pulled it a stop and shot at 200.

My roll includes frames from a recent trip to Hood River, Oregon, and stops I made during a drive up Highway 1 in Guadalupe and Pismo Beach.
